According to the plan and dynamic of the activities of the IRU, the first Parliamentary session for 2018 will be held from the 25th to the 27th of May in Pula, Croatia.
During the Parliamentary Session, besides the attendance of the delegates of the IRU from over 30 countries, which according to announcements, besides the discussions regarding the situation of the Roma in their countries, there will be discussions of internal interests of the IRU in several segments.
Also, it is important to note that the Parliamentary Session of the IRU will be attended by several Governmental and Institutional representatives from Croatia, such as the Vice President of the Croatian Government Mr. Furio Radin, Alen Tahiri - Office for Human Rights and Rights of the national minorities from the Government of Croatia, a Representative from the Istar Zhupanika, Valter Flego, and the Mayor of the City of Pula, Mr. Boris Miletic.

The illegal IRU 71, and its Representative - President Mr. Dorin Cioaba and his members are once again a subject of discussion by the public and of the Traditional Roma IRU Kris. All of this is because on the 20th and 21st of April this year in his birth place in Sibiu, Romania, he held an 11th Congress of the IRU.
Knowing him as a man which in any way possible wants to be the center of attention, and his appetites to present himself among the suffering Roma people from Romania as their "King" - leader, he got an idea to hold an event with his illegal and unapproved IRU1971 and named that event as the 11th Congress.
In order to not spend too much from his own family budget, the location to hold this event was in his neighborhood in Sibiu in his local church where he's the pastor„ Alci este Casa lui dumnezeu - Poarta cerurilori„ which translates to „Alci is God's home - Gate to heaven„

It is also important to note that on the agenda of this Parliamentary session of IRU, its participation as guests and participants will be attended by several governmental and institutional representatives from the Republic of Croatia, such as the Vice President of the Government of Croatia, Mr. Furio Radin, Alen Tahiri - Office for Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities in the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Roma Subcommittee Veljko Kaitasi, Mayor of the City of Pula and other representatives from the Roma NGO and business sector.

The first World Romani Congress was organized in 1971 in Orpington near London, England, United Kingdom, funded in part by the World Council of Churches and the Government of India. It was attended by 23 representatives from nine nations (Czechoslovakia, Finland, Norway, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Spain and Yugoslavia) and observers from Belgium, Canada, India and the United States.
Five sub-commissions were created to examine social affairs, education, war crimes, language, and culture.
At the congress, the green and blue flag from the 1933 conference of the General Association of the Gypsies of Romania, embellished with the red, sixteen-spoked chakra, was reaffirmed as the national emblem of the Roma people, and the song "Gelem, Gelem" was adopted as the Roma anthem.
