The Ambassador informed him that the Roma are integrated in the Iranian society and that they are a part of the multinational community of this country.  However, the Roma in Iran are known as the „Luri„, which for many centuries during the migration from India through the Persian bay (today's Iran), part of them stayed on that place, while as the other continued their road towards their current destinations.  The Ambassador of Iran mentioned that he will support every part of the IRU activities and will affirm the bigger promotion of the IRU all over the world, including his home country, where he mentioned that it is necessary to help the IRU to have a much bigger number of Roma-Luri delegates. As a reminder, the Roma (Luri) have been living in Iran for over 1500 years.
