As part of the activities of the International Romani Union - IRU in relation to meetings and holding a meeting of the members, delegates and the Office of the IRU in the coming period which will discuss the vital plans and programs in the period to stand Zoran Dimov as president IRU will visit with some of the IRU members from Serbia.

The meeting will be held in Belgrade, where he will coordinate all necessary activities related to the meetings that lie ahead.

At the same time these days despite Serbia Dimov has scheduled meetings and meetings with other members of IRU such as Hungary and Slovakia.

These meetings will be held from 8 to 10 June.

Today held IRU Video conference attended by most of the delegates from around the world.

Delegates attended from America, Sweden, India, France, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, England, Serbia, Macedonia, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Switzerland and Romania.


Within the collaborations and the further activities of the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov and the Vice President of the Gypsy Council of America California, Anatoly Butakov signed the Memorandum of Understanding between these two Roma organizations. 

 

This Memorandum declares that both parties will make efforts to strengthen the collaboration when it comes to Roma issues. 

 

This is done in order to raise their socio-economic and also their cultural and language conditions and the identity of the Roma, and to create an even stronger unity between these two organizations.

 

The IRU and the Gypsy Council-USA believe that the power and the successes come through collaboration between various partners, where every partner contributes with his expertise. 

 

However, the IRU obliges to help the Gypsy Council-USA with cultural events regarding the Roma culture and heritage. Also there must be a link between the Gypsy Council-USA and the Roma communities where the Gypsy Council - USA does not have any present branches, and to help the Gypsy Council-USA to assist these communities. 

 

Also, the Gypsy Council-USA obliges to connect the IRU with the Roma communities in the United States and to help the IRU to contact and to help these communities. 

 

The Gypsy Council obliges to help the IRU and to work with various authorities and institutions in the United States (e.g. The United Nations).

Today within the current activities of the President of the IRU, Zoran Dimov after an invitation from the Ambassador of Italy in the Republic of Macedonia held a meeting with his Excellency Mr. Carlo Romeo.

During their meeting they mainly discussed the current condition of the Roma in Italy, and also the unfortunate event which took place on the 10th of May this year where in one Roma camp in a suburb in Rome, an arson attack took place which took the lives of 3 Roma girls aged 4,8,20. In that context, the IRU has sent a letter in a form of a reaction to the Italian Embassy last week. According to the investigation of the Italian authorities, the information state that it's an deliberately set fire from one or several persons, and that they are still trying to find out the true motives of this murder. Also, the Ambassador stated that the President of Italy Mr. Sergio Mattarela and the Pope Francis have given their opinion of this horrendous attack, the Pope also offered to help those who were damaged by this attack.
